The 2011 and 2012 Target USIAC will be hosted by James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
Traditionally, the event rotates each year from region to region. The North Region did not submit any bids for 2011 and in 2012 the event would rotate to the East Region. USCA Executive Director Lorretta Sinclair sought solutions to the issue by contacting various clubs seeking support.
Bob Ryder, Head Coach of JMU's Archery Team provided a two-year solution that was accepted by USCA leadership. Upon acceptance of his offer to support USCA, Ryder stated, "We will be proud to host USIAC's '11 & '12. We'll put on a darn good show."
Executive Director Lorretta Sinclair states, "Bob Ryder's willingness to step up and help with 2011 USIAC is just example of his support of college archery over the years. I know with Bob at the helm of this event for two years that USCA will have a great National Championship."
Beginning in 2013, there will be changes to the bidding and tournament award process to alleviate the issues of suitable bids for the event. In 2013, both the West and South Regions will have the opportunity to bid for the event.
We look forward to an outstanding event at JMU in May 2011!
