The 2011 USIAC hosted by James Madison University and the JMU Archery Club had a record number of participants, 240. The three-day event consisted of a 144 arrow ranking round, team rounds, elimination rounds and for the first time ever a mixed team round.
A mixed team is made up of one male and one female in their respective division. The compound mixed team was won by Cierra Abbate and Daniel Suter from JMU. The recurve mixed team was won by Jennifer Nichols and Aaron Henslin of Texas A&M. In the bowhunter division, a new collegiate division, Penn State won the mixed team round.
Following the final ranking round on Saturday the team rounds took place. The recurve women’s team gold medal match was extremely close with Texas A&M shooting 10 hits to Columbia’s 9. Texas A&M also won gold in the men’s recurve and men’s compound divisions. The women’s compound gold medal was won by Dine College. Penn State took gold in the bowhunter team round.
The final day of competition was the elimination rounds were the individual national champions were won. This years national champions are:

Women's Compound, Kendal Nicely – University of New England
Men's Compound, Danny Wido – Penn. College
Women's Bowhunter, Maria James - Michigan State University

At the awards banquet USCA Director Lorretta Sinclair presented the coaches with pins for the number of years they have served as a USCA coach. Coaches continued to be recognized for their service with the Coach of the Year award. This years nominees were Lorretta Sinclair (West Region), Glen Bennett (North Region), Chad Karstetter (East Region). The 2011 Coach of the Year award went to Chad Karstetter of Penn College.
All American Awards were given to the top 10 archers in each division based on their cumulative score of Indoor Nationals and the USIAC.
The finale of the Awards banquet was announcing the 2011 USCA Overall Team Champion. This year's overall team champion was Texas A&M with Penn College coming in 2nd and James Madison 3rd.
