Former Dine Archer Winston Brown: 1978-2010

Winston Brown (1978-2010)

Submitted by Gregory I. Redhouse, former Dine College Archery Coach: It is with great sadness that I inform the archery community that a former member of the Dine College Archery Team, Winston Brown, has passed as a result of a vehicle accident that occurred early Friday morning, June 11, 2010.  Winston was an avid archer and competed in inter-collegiate archery, from 1999 to 2003.  His sense of humor and witty remarks were always appreciated when the team needed a good laugh.  As an Olympic-recurve archer, Winston’s favorite brand was Win&Win.  One of his biggest accomplishments took place at the 2001 USIAC held at the University of Texas.  Despite one of his team-members completely missing the target with one arrow, Winston made up for the difference by consistently scoring in the yellow rings, and leading the DC Men’s Recurve Team to a one-point win over Penn State.  Winston is survived by his parents, Preston & Arlene Brown, his older sister Collette, his younger sister Candice, his younger brother Brian, and was proceeded in death by an older brother, Victor.   The Dine College Archery family, and US Collegiate Archery, send their deepest condolences to the Brown Family.  If you are interested in making a donation or to send flowers, please contact: FOSTER FUNERAL HOME @ (406) 745-6789.
