US Collegiate Archery has developed an online certification Judge Program for USCA members. The purpose of the Judge Certification Program is to establish a pool of qualified judges who will support USCA at all levels of tournaments.
Clubs may certify any current and active member as a USCA Judge which then alleviates the need to find an outside judge when conducting a local tournament. For the Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships (WRIAC, ERIAC, NRIAC, and SRIAC), USIAC and 3D USIAC, USCA will be able to offer a list of certified judges who not only know and understand FITA rules, but who also have a working knowledge of the unique nature of college archery.
Fray Gray, Head Coach of Dine' College, has accepted the appointment of Director of Judges. Fray will conduct the online certification course on behalf of USCA.
For 2011, all current USCA members, including athletes, coaches, and supporting members may take the course without any cost. Members who pass the certification course may are eligible to judge USCA competitions at local, state, regional and national events. Judges who are certified through other organizations may take the course at USCA's discretion and upon passing will receive a free USCA shirt when they judge at a USCA competition.
The next online course will be conducted in fall 2011. For more on USCA's Judge Program, contact Fray Gray at judges@uscollegiatearchery.org
