The US Collegiate Archery Association (USCA) conducted the World Team trials for the 2010 World University Archery Championships at Texas A&M in May. Representing the United States are Men’s recurve: Jacob Wukie, James Madison Univ, Dakota Sinclair, UC San Diego, Joe Fanchin, USC; Women’s Recurve, Erin Mickelberry, Univ of Washington, Sara Goshorn, Columbia Univ, Katie Jepson, James Madison Univ; Men’s compound: Danny Wido, Penn College, Steve Gatto, Univ of WVA, Adam Gallant, Texas A&M; Women’s compound Erika Anschutz, Univ of Nebraska, Lindsay Christensen, Weber State Univ, Samantha Neal, Univ of Buffalo.
The team will will compete in Shenzhen, China 23-26 September 2010 at the 8th World University Archery Championships. The competition includes a 70 meter qualifying round followed by Elimination matches; a team round shot on the Academic target (aka hit/miss) and the mixed team round is one man and one woman shooting on the Academic target.
USCA is the National Governing Body for Collegiate Archery in the United States and works with the International University Sports Federation (IUSF) each year to send a team to the World University Archery Championships in the even years, and to the World University Games in the odd years to represent the United States. The Easton Foundations has generously sponsored the USCA team for the second year in a row to ensure the top athletes can attend the event.
